Hello All Crafters, Moms, & Preschool Providers

If you have bare walls or corners that you want to fill in your home, I’m your girl! I love filling that corner that has been blank for years. If you hate those boring spots too, then these DIY Home Project Posts may give you some ideas you like!

I do not have any artistic ability…at all! So every one of these projects for the home or classroom are ridiculously simple for anyone to recreate.  If you are anything like me, you probably have most items needed to create many of the projects already in your home, stuffed in the junk drawer or on the craft shelf 🤗. If you are this kind of crafter, I bet we would be friends 🤝.
I love cheap and easy, but I also love unique and different.I have truly put my heart and soul into each project. I am never done until I think it feels perfect to me 🤗. If it doesn’t feel complete, I keep adjusting until I love it.  Everyone’s end vision is different and beautiful. I love sharing ideas with others. I hope you like some of these projects and try some as well.

Also…if you are a mom or teacher of a toddler and need help with ANY stage or behavior…I’m your girl!! I got you 👊

99% of my projects can be done relaxing on the couch or in bed, while binge watching TV, when you are bored 📺. I love having some project going on to look forward to after a busy day (when I have time). While also having a hobby to keep my hands busy while I relax.  Most of my crafting projects or hobbies can be put aside in a pile and picked up again whenever, until they are complete. None of them take a substantial amount of time. I tend to get bored if a project takes me too long to complete. I like things I can do in a day or two. I can even tolerate a week or two for some depending on how often I get to work on it and how excited I am about it.

Why I Love to Craft

Years ago, when I decided I was going to start a preschool/daycare in my home, I was so excited. It was my dream job.  I was a center director of a large center years earlier. I thought it was going to be easy peasy doing it smaller and by myself. Not having any other employees ensures me that I know my kids inside and out 100%. I don’t have to go check with other teachers just to be informed; or count on staff to be the best them they can be just because I expect it. What I did not consider before working from home alone, was the endless amount of time I was stuck in my house, without being able to leave…ever. I never thought at all about the fact that my best friends were going to all be toddlers and I was essentially on my own completely. This feeling became real very quickly. I loved my daycare career already but being stuck and alone was hard. Staring at boring walls and rooms I didn’t love at the time started to set in.  I started thinking that if this is the life and career I really want then I better figure out a way to make it a home and a school I’m obsessed with so I love spending 70% of my time here until I retire. If I’m stuck with me as the only adult to talk to each day for the next few decades I might as well find hobbies to make me happy, like myself since I’ll be my only friend, and pride myself on being the best Kim I can be since I didn’t have anyone else to impress but myself. I’m no one great of course. Definitely basic and no one special.  The kind of woman whose idea of classy is my Walmart clothes and dying my hair out of a box. Just a 45 year old woman who has figured out how to make this mom life and small business work for my family and not want to cry in a pillow every single day 😫😜🤦‍♀️.  I decided I would either fail or succeed on my own. No one to blame if I couldn’t nail my own life, success, and happiness. The only person I can control is me. I spend my day thinking about how everyone can get more out of their day? What I can add? What else can I teach the toddlers? What I can create in my classroom, kitchen, or in my living room etc. to make it more unique, interesting organized or updated? I love cheap and easy, but I also love different. My tastes, colors, visions, and decorating ideas may not be for everyone. But they definitely all proudly scream me 😋.

My Promise to Families in my Childcare

I am highly aware that I am caring for and teaching parents most priceless and beloved possession.  I hold this knowledge to the highest of standards. I aim to continually create a quality childcare program for little ones to enjoy and parents to confidently love sending their children to each day ❤️.
